At Grafham Grange, our aim is to get students ready and motivated for the world of work after they leave school. Providing them with work experience is one of the best ways to achieve this.

We have developed a great partnership with Sparks, a charity that has helped thousands of young people make the transition from education into employment, as a result, three of our students took part in work experience opportunities this term.

One student completed a full week at Godalming Garage where he accessed vital real world experience of working in a garage, assisting in MOTs, servicing, stripping engines and customer service. He said the experience reinforced that he wants to work in the motor mechanic industry. Godalming Garage have him a glowing report, stating that he will be a very successful mechanic and that he is one of the best work experience students they have had.

Our two other students completed a full week at Prodrive, an IT support company. They gained experience in identifying the components of the desktops/laptops, reassembling refurbished computers and installing software ready for them to be distributed.

Feedback from all students was very positive, they all agreed that the work experience gave them more confidence in regards to life after school and moving on to training and employment.
